Clr Eva Ngcama (Ward 42 councillor), Clr Ndosi Shongwe (MMC for City Planning), Lesiba Mpya (MMC for Human Settlements), Clr Alta de Beer (Ward 39 councillor) and Robert Pienaar (from the metro's Customer Relations Management Department) celebrated the opening of Hout Park among LamDel residents on Friday morning.
Hout Park, situated at the corner of Second Avenue and Second Street in Lambton, was recently refurbished with new additions of playground equipment and outdoor gym facilities to promote recreational activities in the area.
The metro held an auspicious park opening ceremony at the park on Friday to officially welcome LamDel residents to their new park worth R1-million.
MMC for Human Settlements Clr Lesiba Mpya and MMC for City Planning Clr Ndosi Shongwe were both in attendance on behalf of the executive mayor, Mzwandile Masina.
Eight people from Ward 39 were employed to work on the project which started in May and was officially completed on August 13.

A teacher from Heavenly Flowers School, Salome Smith, enjoyed a quick slide on the new play equipment at Hout Park on Friday, during the official park opening ceremony hosted by the metro.
