Absalom Mnisi (53), a driver at Esar Transport in Wadeville, was recently shot and killed in an alleged truck hijacking in Port Elizabeth.

“We believe the truck was targeted for its load of copper,” explained managing director Peps Pretorius.
“Absalom was one of our most reliable and respected drivers.
“His death will be mourned and his presence missed.”
Absalom’s funeral was in his home town of Bethal.

“In honour of Absalom, Esar Transport management, employees, families, friends and representatives from major clients gathered at our company premises for a short ceremony.
“During the ceremony, we blew all our truck hooters at noon in remembrance and respect.”
Absalom, born on September 2 in 1966, is survived by his wife Cynthia and five children.
