The metro, in partnership with Global Peace Organisation, will host the first Global Peace Inter-Generational Dialogue (IGD) at the O R Tambo Precinct in Benoni this Saturday (August 17).
The precinct is situated at 3061 Tame Avenue, Wattville, Benoni.
The Global Peace IGD creates a platform for the youth to have a voice on the decisions that affect them today and in the future.
As such, young people from across Ekurhuleni will join other young people from different parts of the world to dialogue with current leaders about their aspirations for what a better world should look like.
The dialogue will be guided by a set of questions that focus on global issues and are based largely on advancing the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Some of the questions to be tackled during the dialogue include
• How can citizens, the private sector and government help build societies that are more peaceful, more inclusive and that share common values?
• How do we strengthen action for existing climate agreements and strategies to protect our environment?
• How do we build and strengthen inclusive economies in the midst of the challenges facing the 21st century societies?
