Carlyle receives Hero Award at Chapter.Con

Chapter.Con sees local author receive top award.

Local author Carlyle Labuschagne was recently invited to attend Chapter.Con London 2019 as a speaker and panel member.

“Chapter.Con is an intimate event for writers, publishers and successful author entrepreneurs who want to keep up-to-date with the rapid industry of publishing,” said Carlyle.

Conferences like these are critical according to Carlyle if an author or publisher aims to keep ahead of trends.

“They are attended by authors and publishers who take the industry very seriously.

“A limited number of invites are sent out so that attendees get as much out of the event as possible,” said Carlyle.

Author Carlyle Labuschagne recently won the Hero Award at Chapter.Con London 2019. She was invited to attend the event as a speaker and panel member.

And to Carlyle and the organisers of Chapter.Con, keeping it small, but populated with top people in their fields, ensures that all attendees, at different levels in their careers, get an intensive injection of new ideas, new aspirations and can build new relationships which could last their entire careers.

Carlyle was invited as speaker on the topic marketing in the media for authors as a way to build their brand, and how they can translate press exposure into sales.

As a writer Carlyle has grown over the past seven years into not only an international bestselling author but an entrepreneur when it comes to mentoring other authors to reach the next level of their success.

From Paris to the USA she now has also had the chance to exchange expertise with UK industry professionals.

At the Chapter.Con awards evening she walked away with the top award for the conference, namely, the Hero Award.

She received nearly 100 per cent of the attendees’ votes.

The Hero Award in short is to reward the author who holds the spirit of everything Chapter.Con stands for, namely, helping fellow authors, inspiring writers, the best in overall book concepts, covers, author branding, author marketing and writers’ initiatives, but most off all lifting up your fellow writer as you succeed with them, not against them.

Carlyle is making an impact in the industry wherever she goes.
