Members of the ANC Ward 36 branch recently participated in a Mandela Day initiative.
They spent their 67 minutes removing illegal advertising for services like abortions, penis enlargements and the like from street light poles, road signs, walls and electrical boxes in their area.

“We have heard from health campaigns that these institutions are illegal and are posing a danger to the society,” said Isaac Mosoane, a member of the branch.
“Procedures performed by these ‘advertisers’ could result in detrimental health effects or even in death.”
Apart from this, Isaac added that the adverts are pasted in an unorderly manner and cause visual pollution in the ward.
Branch members spent a productive 67 minutes removing many of the posters.
