Primrose police share five tips to help keep women safe

Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police, shared five safety tips to help women stay safe.

With Women’s Day just around the corner, the Primrose police’s communications officer, Sgt Styles Maome, shared some safety tips to help keep women safe.

His top five tips are:

• Avoid walking alone, rather walk in groups.

• Avoid secluded and dark places.

• Refrain from meeting online/Facebook dates at their homes or secluded areas, rather meet at a busy public place.

• Avoid accepting drinks from strangers or leaving drinks unattended.

• Do not leave handbags and other valuables visible in your vehicle when driving to avoid becoming a victim of a smash-and-grab.

Crimes can be reported to the Primrose Police Station on 011 842 0522 or the patrol vehicles on 071 675 6864/5/6/7/8/9.
