Officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and members of the EMPD took to the streets of Katlehong this weekend in several different operations.
The operations, held between August 2 and 4, led to the arrest of 11 suspects.
The accused were charged with various offences.

Charges included:
• Common assault: 3
• Driving under the influence of alcohol: 3
• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 2
• Possession of suspected stolen goods: 1
• Possession of stolen bank cards: 1
• Possession of drugs: 1

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.
Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Brig Sammy Thambo called for the community to report crimesin the area, even if it is anonymously, to help in the fight against crime.
