Warm knits for Avril Elizabeth residents

Avril Elizabeth Home receives special donation from the elderly.

Residents of SAVF Sonkruin Housing Scheme for the Elderly donated beautifully knitted jerseys to Avril Elizabeth Home’s residents on Wednesday.

“I do not have idle hands, I’ve got to keep myself busy,” said Rieke Venter.

“When Shirley van Zyl and I realised that we could use our time wisely and knit jerseys for the children at the home we started this project.

“If your free time and talents can benefit others, use them wisely.”

Charmaine Weyer, the fund-raising assistant at Avril Elizabeth Home said the home was appreciative of the donation as many residents were in need of jerseys this winter.
