Sizanani project team continues to support El-Shammah

El-Shammah Home for Abandoned Babies and Place of Safety excited about paediatric room renovations.

Life Roseacres Hospital pledged to support El-Shammah Home for Abandoned Babies and Place of Safety in any way they can as part of their Sizanani project, last year.

“Each Life hospital has a Sizanani project, which they are dedicated to for three years.

“We, at Roseacres, have a passion for children, previously choosing to support Laerskool Die President, and so decided that El-Shammah was a great fit for us,” explained Karen Landsberg, the hospital’s marketing coordinator.

The hospital has since shown their support by making a donation of clothes, medicine, baby formula, nappies and baby products such as bum cream, soap and shampoo.

All the donations were collected internally in a two-month long drive which saw donations from doctors, nurses and other hospital staff.

This was followed by a fun-filled Christmas party, at which hospital staff spent time spoiling the children at the home.

Last Monday the hospital once again showed their support donating building material needed by El-Shammah to renovate their paediatric room.

“We donated ceiling boards, doors and gutters, all bought from Silvasons Hardware, in Primrose,” said Karen.

While delivering the donated items to the home, Trevor da Silva from Silvasons Hardware committed to having the items installed at the home, free of charge.

“A big thank you goes to our suppliers and clients who make it possible for us to do things like this,” said Trevor.

Allistair and Merencia Scholtz, who manage the home, were thrilled with the donation.

“We are so grateful for the efforts made by the Sizanani project team and Silvasons Hardware,” said Merencia.

“Our paediatric room is going to be amazing.”
