Gunnite employees go on lunch drive for Mandela Day

To commemorate International Mandela Day, Gunnite International employees hit the streets to feed the homeless.

Gunnite International employees hit the Germiston streets in three vehicles headed in three different routes, all with one mission on Mandela Day: to feed the homeless and the needy in the city.

Locals enjoy food packages on Mandela Day donated by Gunnite International employees.

A total of 480 meals inclusive of cold drinks were handed out on the day and, according to Sheri Treges from Gunnite International, the amount of gratitude witnessed during this initiative brought tears to many of her colleagues.

“It was an honour to run this feeding scheme in remembrance of Nelson Mandela, a beautiful human who made the biggest contribution of peace to our country,” she said.

Gunnite International staff members enjoyed 67 minutes for Mandela Day, handing out food parcels to the needy in Germiston.
