Ithembelihle refurbished at the stroke of a brush

The Primrose SAPS Youth Desk gives back to Ithembelihle Lsen School.

To celebrate 67 minutes for Mandela Day, the Primrose SAPS Youth Desk refurbished the handrails at Ithembelihle Lsen School on Saturday.

The team of nine said they chose Ithembelihle because it is a good school in the community and is aligned with their purpose this year, to reach out and carry out various initiatives in local schools.

The Primrose SAPS Youth Desk took to Ithembelihle Lsen School to recondition the handrails in the school’s corridors with a decent paint job on Saturday. Taking part in this initiative in celebrating 67 minutes for Mandela Day, are, back: Lucky Metso (deputy chairperson), Salvador Muchanga, Zweli Booi, Nokuthula Ngwenya and Angel Baloyi. Front: Loti Zimba (chairperson), Sello Mangolwane, Chantelle Bergman (deputy secretary) and Dibuseng Motlokoa (secretary).

“Our focus areas include giving back to the surrounding informal settlements in Primrose and the schools.

“With this initiative we thought we could help reduce the school’s financial burden of having to buy paint and pay for labour to get the handrails painted, by doing it ourselves,” said Lucky Metso, deputy chairperson of the Primrose SAPS Youth Desk.
