Officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit held a stop-and-search operation last Tuesday.
During the operation, six suspects were arrested.
The accused were charged with various offences.
Charges included assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of a hijacked vehicle, possession of an unlicensed firearm and live ammunition and malicious damage to property.
All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Phakama Gcaza commended the team on their efforts.
The Katlehong police will continue to hold similar operations in the area to increase their visibility.
