JMPD assists in the arrest of two suspects

Men arrested on charges of possession of a hijacked vehicle and possession of an unlicensed firearm and live ammunition.

While on patrol in Moleleki Section, Katlehong last Tuesday, JMPD officers arrested two suspects on multiple charges.

The men were charged with possession of a hijacked vehicle and possession of an unlicensed firearm and live ammunition.

“The officers were patrolling the area after the allegedly stolen vehicle’s tracker was activated,” said Const Sivenkosi Mtwa, spokesperson for the Katlehong police.

The men were taken to the Katlehong Police Station.

“The firearm, which was confiscated, was sent for ballistic testing to determine whether it was linked to other crimes in the area,” said Mtwa.

They have since appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
