Competition sees great fun at local store
A fun-filled potjiekos competition was recently held at Hirsch’s Meadowdale.
Hirsch’s Meadowdale recently collaborated with Rest Assured, Cloud Nine, Weber and the Hirsch’s air conditioner department to host a potjiekos competition.
Mario Viljoen from Rest Assured and Cloud Nine made a biltong potjie, Jaco Brits from Weber made a chicken potjie and Danie Nortje from Hirsch’s air conditioner department made a beef potjie.
The judges on the day were Chrissie Nortman (Hirsch’s Meadowdale store manager), Loven Govender (Hirsch’s Meadowdale assistant manager) and Tommy Dickson (from Weber).
Hirsch’s Meadowdale public relations officer Chantelle du Plessis said, “The judges looked at every aspect, from preparation, effort, presentation to taste.
“It was incredibly difficult to reach a decision and establish a winner as they were so very close.”
