Husband and wife arrested for allegedly dealing in narcotics

EMPD members pounced on two alleged drug dealers in Dukathole.

Information received and swiftly acted upon by EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members led to the arrest of a couple in Selami Street, Dukathole, at 11am, last Saturday.

An assortment of narcotics valued at R3 600 on the streets was uncovered in the couple’s home.

The husband was found with nine ziplock bags of Kat, two ziplock bags of crystal methamphetamine and two ziplock bags of dagga valued at R2 400, while the wife was found with nine green knotted plastic bags of nyaope valued at R900.

Cash amounting to R1 164 suspected to be the proceeds of illicit dealings was confiscated.

The arrested couple, aged 34 and 36, was detained at the Germiston Police Station and charged with possession of and dealing in illicit substances.
