LamDel RA declares WAR

Help LamDel Residents Association (RA) make a difference by reporting municipal issues and poor service delivery.

The LamDel Residents Association (RA) has declared war against ongoing municipal issues and poor service delivery.

The organisation, which was established in 2016 and encompasses Denlee, Delville, Hazeldene, Hazel Park, Klippoortjie North, Lambton, Parkhill Gardens, Webber and the Germiston Lake, covering two wards and two CPFs, recently launched their Winter Action Report (WAR) campaign.

The campaign is not only aimed at holding the metro accountable for service delivery, but also encouraging the community to report service delivery issues to the metro.

“Residents will complain that a pothole hasn’t been fixed or the stormwater drains are blocked, but when you ask for a reference number, they tell you they haven’t lodged a call,” said Lornette Joseph, chairperson of LamDel RA.

“The metro, councillors and even LamDel RA exco simply cannot be everywhere.

“Also, if the residents made the calls, the metro can’t say they aren’t aware of the issues.

“Lodging the complaints will also help the metro because they will know of all the issues.”

To further promote the campaign, LamDel RA is holding a competition.

“The resident with the most calls logged will win a nice prize,” explained Joseph.

To enter, residents need to first log a call with the metro’s call centre or on the metro’s app and then send all the details (incident type, reference number, address of the complaint) together with their name and number to fbi@lamdel.org.za.

The competition runs until July 15.
