Man arrested for alleged drug possession during patrol

Primrose police apprehended a man on a charge of drug possession.

While on patrol in Pretoria Road, last Monday, officers from the Primrose Police Station noticed a man behaving suspiciously.

They stopped the man, introduced themselves and asked to search him.

“During the search officers found a smoking pipe and a ziplock plastic bag containing a white powder believed to be drugs,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“When he was questioned by police he allegedly confirmed that the substance was drugs.”

He was arrested on a charge of drug possession and taken to the Primrose Police Station.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
