As winter creeps in with chills, the Jahrmarkt Winter Festival set to keep locals warm.

The event, in line with the German heritage of the Church of Reconciliation’s congregation, served wholesome food and tasty beverages at the Lutheran Church in Parkhill Gardens recently.

Centurion local McDonald Pasipanodya made a stop at the Jahrmarkt Winter Festival in his full knights’ costume.

Famous for its German food and beverages it attracted German-speaking locals and patrons from as far as Centurion.

The festivities began at 11.30am, following a 30-minute devotion held inside the church.

Sifiso Kunene served warm craft beers to locals at the Jahrmarkt Winter Festival held at the Lutheran Church in Parkhill Gardens recently.

While parents enjoyed warm beverages and wine tasting on site, the young ones occupied the gaming zone, boasting TV games, table soccer and classic board games like Twister.

Laura, Lauren and Dirk Venter relished in a delightful afternoon at the Lutheran Church in Parkhill Gardens recently, enjoying the ambiance of the Jahrmarkt Winter Festival.

A selection of home-baked goodies such as eclairs, scones and traditional German pretzels were on offer in the cosy hall much to the delight of many festival goers.
