Katlehong SAPS share weekend success

Seven suspects arrested during Katlehong SAPS weekend operations.

Officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and members of the EMPD took to the streets of Katlehong last weekend in several different operations.

The operations, held between June 7 and 9, led to the arrest of seven suspects.

The accused were charged with various offences.

Charges included murder, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, intimidation, shoplifting, malicious damage to property, pointing a firearm, possession of drugs, dealing in drugs and driving under the influence of alcohol.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Brig Sammy Thambo was pleased with the arrests made over the weekend and called for the community to report crimes and criminal activities in the area, even if it is anonymously, to help in the fight against crime.
