Man arrested for dealing in drugs during operation

Katlehong North police target criminals in their precinct.

Officers from the Katlehong North Police Station’s Crime Prevention Unit and sector management members held a special operation, last Friday.

The operation led to the arrest of 10 suspects for various offences within the Katlehong North police’s precinct.

Charges included theft, shoplifting, possession of drugs, reckless and negligent driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.

During the operation a 24-year-old man was also arrested on a charge of dealing in drugs.

Officers found 15 green plastic bags containing drugs, three Mandrax tablets and cash in the suspect’s possession.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Katlehong North SAPS station commander Col Reginah Rampota congratulated the officers involved following the arrests.

She further praised the officers for working hard and committing themselves to serving the community of Katlehong North.
