WAR campaign to end with fun run

You are cordially invited to a two-day anti-rape intervention campaign.

The women behind WAR (Women Against Rape) are urging the community to join them at their two-day rape intervention awareness campaign.

The campaign will run from Friday to Saturday at Bonchares Park, situated on the corner of Shamrock Road and Beaconsfield Avenue, in Primrose.

In sticking to one of their objectives which is to run an array of empowerment platforms to ensure sustainable livelihoods for communities with a large focus on victim empowerment, they will run door-to-door intervention campaigns on Friday in Primrose.

Festivities of the rally will end on Saturday with a fun run, hosted by Human Trafficking International (HTI) and the Anglican Women’s Fellowship (AWF).

Refreshments will be served at the venue.

“The awareness campaign aims to mobilise active community support against abuse,” said Kholiwe Dlamini, founder of HTI.

“We also seek to raise funds and create visibility for HTI, fight against human trafficking, embrace multi-disciplinary methods in dealing with victims and giving them support, as well as presenting an integrated approach that prevents and combats trafficking while assisting abused individuals. ”
