Katlehong North police hold awareness campaign to educate community.

Crime Prevention Unit officers from the Katlehong North police and community patrollers embarked on a community awareness campaign in Sector Four of Phake Section recently.

The aim of the campaign was to sensitise the community about crime hotspots within the area.

During the campaign, officers also spoke to residents about problem crimes, including rape, hijacking, domestic violence, theft out of motor vehicles and assault.

Community members were urged to be cautious of suspicious-looking people loitering in the area and were asked never to leave their valuables in their cars, as this can motivate criminals to strike.

Safety tip pamphlets on how to avoid being a victim of crime were also distributed.
