‘Deceased gogo helped us to win SPAR Go Big competition,’ says winner

Klopper Park family wins their groceries in SPAR Go Big competition.

Losing a loved one is a bitter pill to swallow.

For Fortunate Kzole from Klopper Park it was truly heart-breaking when her beloved gogo recently died.

However, she said her gogo is smiling down on her from heaven as she won the SPAR Go Big competition to the value of R3 790.

The first week of May was a sad week for Fortunate and her family as they were dealing with the tragic death of their grandmother.

The family went shopping at SPAR Klopper Park on May 1 for the funeral and witnessed a miracle.

“My granny is looking after us.

“I knew it when my uncle told me we had won our groceries.

“I was so very happy when we won,” said Fortunate.

Fortunate fondly recalls how she would buy groceries for her granny at SPAR Klopper Park and take them to her when she went home for the weekend.

“One can say I was her favourite and she was mine.

“We were very close.

“I am a single mother of a soon to be seven-year-old boy and my grandmother taught me to be independent and raise my son well.

“I know I have to work hard for my baby,” she said, whilst holding back her tears.

To celebrate SPAR’s 56th birthday, 56 000 lucky shoppers will win their groceries.

The campaign ran from April 23 and ended on May 19.

All you had to do to enter was to buy any participating products in store and swipe your SPAR Rewards card.

SPAR Klopper Park store manager, Gary Harvett, said it is truly unbelievable to see how SPAR makes a difference in people’s lives.

“We are all here to fight the good fight and SPAR Klopper Park is proud to be part of the community.

“We want to convey the message that we have to love one another and be supportive.

“It is our SPAR philosophy to care.

“We are one family,” said Harvett.
