Officers from the Katlehong police’s Crime Prevention Unit had a busy weekend conducting several different operations within their precinct.
The operations were conducted between May 10 and 12, with the assistance of detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and EMPD officers, and led to five arrests.
The accused were charged with a number of different offences.

Charges included:
• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: one
• Malicious damage to property: one
• Driving under the influence of alcohol: three.

Katlehong SAPS station commander Brig Sammy Tambo called for the community to report crimes and criminal activities in the area, even if it is anonymously, to help in the fight against crime.
All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for different reasons.
