Changing the scent of a man

Meet the noses behind Paxxion by Impulse International Cosmetics.

Doctor Morole, Tshepo Sehoana and Sibusiso Mxotwa are set to change the township narrative of entrepreneurs one perfume bottle at a time.

The three men, from Katlehong, met while working at a sales and marketing company in Sandton.

Though they all have different aesthetics and interests, the one common goal they shared was the longing to become entrepreneurs.

They set to make that dream a reality in February when they stumbled on an idea to break into the cosmetics industry during one of their brainstorming sessions.

All three of them left their places of employment after doing ample research on their idea and started their own company named Impulse International Cosmetics (Pty) Ltd.

After countless trips to a chemical lab in Modderfontein, they eventually found a scent which would fit their first men’s range, Paxxion.

“Paxxion is a spicy and woody fragrance exclusively ornamented for men,” said Doctor.

“It is a daring scent set to help men reveal a radiant and spirited personality.”

Sibusiso Mxotwa recently tested the new Paxxion by Impulse International Cosmetics fragrance for men, which he helped create with two other partners.

The top notes used in the scent are ginger, lemon, mint and lavender, the middle notes are juniper, apple, geranium and Guatemalan cardamom and the base notes are Tonka bean, amber wood and Haitian vetiver.

Once the scent was chosen it had to be packaged and prepared for marketing and sales which was done in March.

“We agreed on a matte black bottle.

“It was something I had never seen, it was different, and different is what we aim to achieve with our product,” said Sibusiso.

Paxxion by Impulse International Cosmetics is a spicy and woody fragrance exclusively for men, created by Doctor Morole, Tshepo Sehoana and Sibusiso Mxotwa from Katlehong.

A total of 50 units were produced at the end of March and Paxxion by Impulse Int Cosmetics was officially launched at 420 Corner Limpopo, a pub and grill in Katlehong, last month.

“At the launch a number of community members were amazed at what we had produced.

“That made us proud and it reflected in the sales we had,” said an excited Sibusiso.

The success of the launch was not only revealed by the number of sales produced on the day and during the days after, but also through an upcoming collaboration between Paxxion and TLT Amazing, a rap duo from Katlehong who are signed under Rap Lyf Records.

The three continue to use their sales skills in closing deals and using social media, a tool which has been beneficial in their embryonic stage, since they do not have a store yet.
