Fifteen jailed in Elsburg for various crimes

Successful weekend crime prevention operations in Elsburg.

The Elsburg SAPS joined forces with the EMPD and Elsburg CPF recently in efforts to rid their precinct of crime.

The three entities embarked on several crime prevention operations such as stop-and-searches, vehicle checkpoints (VCP’s) and tracing of suspects in the following areas: Elsburg, Tedstoneville, Mimosa Park, Graceland, Elspark, Rondebult, Buhle Park, Klipoortjie, Wadeville, Cruywagen Park and Egoli Village.

Fifteen suspects were arrested during this tour of duties.

The operations saw the suspects brought to book on various charges such as malicious damage to property, possession of drugs, dealing in dagga, traffic fines, drunk and driving, possession of dagga, general theft, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm and fraud.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court last Monday.
