Four arrested in Katlehong on voting day

Katlehong police share their successes.

While many Katlehong residents cast their votes in the 2019 national and provincial elections, on Wednesday, the Katlehong police were hard at work.

Members of the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, with the help of detectives from the Katlehong Police Station, arrested four suspects.

The arrests were made during several stop-and-search operations in the precinct.

The accused were arrested for various offences.

Charges included malicious damage to property, defeating the ends of justice, impersonating a police officer and possession of drugs.

Katlehong SAPS station commander Brig Sammy Thambo thanked everyone who contributed to the successful arrests.

He further encouraged the community to not turn a blind eye when it comes to crime and to rather assist police in the fight against crime.

The arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
