EMPD takes to the N17 highway to tackle speedsters

Four men were arrested and detained at the Elsburg Police Station for alleged speeding.

The EMPD High-Speed Unit targeted speeding motorists on the N17 highway between Guthrie and Heidelberg bridges in both directions between 5am and 10am on Wednesday.

During the course of the operation, they arrested four drivers for exceeding the 120km/h limit on that stretch of road.

The alleged speedsters were all men, three of whom were driving in sedans and one in a heavy motor vehicle.

The men, aged between 26 and 44, cited reasons from being late for work and for meetings to being late for deliveries.
