Katlehong North police arrest 16 suspects over the weekend

Sixteen suspects were arrested in Katlehong North last weekend.

The Katlehong North police arrested 16 suspects for various offences last weekend.

The arrests were made during a Katlehong North SAPS Intelligence Unit driven operation.

Charges included assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, theft, possession of drugs, malicious damage to property and driving under the influence of alcohol.

During the operation, police also closed down an illegal tavern and confiscated litres of alcohol.

Katlehong North SAPS station commander Col Reginah Rampota congratulated the officers involved following the arrests.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
