Checkers Hyper Edenvale along with a bouncy Easter Bunny made a terrific stop at Rest-a-While Service Centre for the Elderly last Thursday, to kick-start the Easter celebrations.
The centre had been running a creative Easter hat competition, which saw members in fun hats inspired by the holiday.
Staff from Checkers Hyper Edenvale arrived with lovely prizes to be won by the best hat decorators.
“Taking care of the children and the elderly in our communities is one of our leading pillars at Checkers Hyper,” said Sufura Sheriff, public relations manager for Shoprite Group of Companies.
“During our CSI campaign this year we decided to focus on the elderly.
“When we heard of Rest-A-While, and the competition they were running, we decided to spend the morning with them, sponsor them with prizes and bring along treats, as our main objective is hunger relief.
“Our purpose was to bring a little bit of cheer, and I think we’ve succeeded.”
