Man allegedly breaks into shack, makes off with money and cellphone

Man apprehended by Primrose police on a charge of house break-in and theft.

After a recent argument with her boyfriend, a Makause informal settlement woman went to visit her mother.

She locked her shack before she left.

“When she returned the following day she found the door had been forced open and her cellphone and money had been stolen,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

She immediately opened a case with the Primrose police.

Police were able to trace and arrest a 27-year-old man in connection with the crime.

He was taken to the Primrose Police Station, where he was charged with house break-in and theft.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
