Katlehong SAPS share their weekend successes

Katlehong police arrested 11 suspects during several weekend operations.

It was a busy weekend for the Katlehong police.

Officers from the Katlehong police’s Crime Prevention Unit and detectives from the Katlehong Police Station arrested 11 suspects during a number of different operations held in the area between April 12 and 14.

The accused were arrested for a number of different offences.

Charges included common assault, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, shoplifting, possession of suspected stolen property, house break-in and theft and driving under the influence of alcohol.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.

Katlehong SAPS station commander Brig Sammy Thambo called for the community to report crimes and criminal activities in the area, even if it is anonymously, to help in the fight against crime.
