Twelve arrested in weekend operations

Katlehong SAPS share their latest weekend arrest statistics.

Officers from the Katlehong Police Station hosted several crime prevention operations in their precinct last weekend.

The operations, conducted by members of the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit and detectives from the Katlehong Police Station, were held between April 5 and 7 and led to the arrest of 12 suspects.

The accused were charged with different offences.

Charges included common assault, pointing a firearm, malicious damage to property, contravening a court order, robbery, possession of drugs and driving under the influence of alcohol.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Doctor Sibuyi once again appealed to the community to come forward and report crimes as soon as they happen.
