The General Election is taking place on May 8, however, special voting is taking place on May 6 and 7.
If you are away on holiday or business, elderly, bedridden, heavily pregnant or simply working on May 8 you can apply for a special vote.
Applications for special votes are open and close on April 18, so your application must be submitted before then.
On the Monday or Tuesday you will be entitled to go to your voting station, where you are registered, between 8am and 5pm, and cast your ballot or if you are unable to go your voting station the IEC will come to your home in order for you to cast your vote.
