Happy World Pre-school gets special visit from SAPS

Officers from the Primrose Police Station and members of the Primrose SAPS Victim Empowerment Centre and Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk teach children about crime.

The learners from Happy World Pre-school, in Primrose, received a special visit from the Primrose police, recently.

Officers from the Primrose Police Station were joined by members from the Primrose SAPS Victim Empowerment Centre and Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk, for the visit which aimed to sensitise learners and teach them more about crime.

During the visit, Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police, encouraged the children to report criminal activities in their community.

“You mustn’t be afraid of the police or afraid to report crimes,” he said.

Dibuseng Motlokoa (from the youth desk) encouraged the learners to get involved in the fight against crime by joining such as oganisations like the youth desk.

Before leaving, the team provided the Childline number and encouraged learners to use it if they needed it.

“We are grateful to the school’s management for inviting us to talk to the children.

“We hope they will take the message to heart and share it with other children,” said Maome.
