Five arrested in daily stop-and-search

Katlehong SAPS arrested five suspects during a daily stop-and-search in their policing precinct.

Officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit took to the streets on Wednesday for a stop-and-search operation.

During the operation, five suspects were arrested.

The accused were charged with various offences, including theft, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, armed robbery and malicious damage to property.

One suspect was arrested on a charge of house robbery and kidnapping.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Doctor Sibuyi called for the community to report crimes and criminal activities in the area without fear that they will be targeted by the offenders.
