“We are facing a serious challenge in that sector,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

To help raise awareness within the community, officers from the Primrose Police Station and members of the Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk visited the area.

“We held a door-to-door awareness campaign, during which we tried to sensitise our community,” said Maome.

Approximately 400 safety tip flyers were distributed to the community during the campaign.

“We once again remind our community to invite their visitors to park inside their yards even if they stay for a short period of time,” Maome continued.

“Residents need to take every precaution to ensure they don’t make themselves vulnerable to crime.”
