Woman opens case against her husband following alleged sexual assault

Primrose police arrested a 36-year-old man on a charge of sexual assault.

A woman from the Makause informal settlement recently opened a case against her 36-year-old husband at the Primrose Police Station.

“The woman told officers she had been sitting at home when her husband arrived and without saying anything began to assault her.

“He allegedly then pushed her onto the bed and demanded sex,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

She further alleged that when she refused he got a piece of rope and threatened to hang her.

Using the information given by the victim, officers were able to trace and arrest the man.

He was charged with sexual assault.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where his case was postponed for a bail application.
