Fourteen nabbed by Katlehong SAPS last weekend

Fourteen suspects arrested during Katlehong SAPS weekend operations.

Officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and members of the EMPD took to the streets of Katlehong last weekend in several different operations.

The operations, held between March 1 and 3, led to the arrest of 14 suspects.

The accused were charged with various offences.

Charges included murder, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, contravening a protection order, house break-in and theft, dealing in drugs, selling liquor without a licence and driving under the influence of alcohol.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Doctor Sibuyi called for the community to report crimes and criminal activities in the area, even if it is anonymously, to help in the fight against crime.
