Man allegedly threatened by neighbour in Makause

Man apprehended for malicious damage to property by Primrose SAPS.

While at home in the Makause informal settlement, last Friday, a man heard someone knocking on his door.

“Before he could respond he saw the door falling to the floor,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

“He claimed his 33-year-old neighbour was on the other side of the door and began shouting at him and threatening to kill him.”

Other neighbours arrived at the shack to help.

“The complainant called police to report the incident and lay a charge against the accused,” said Maome.

The suspect was traced and arrested.

He was taken to the Primrose Police Station where he was charged with malicious damage to property.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
