Witness leads police to murder accused

The Primrose police apprehended a 42-year-old man for murder.

The Primrose police were called to the Makause informal settlement last Saturday.

When they arrived they found a man lying on the ground with a deep cut in his upper body.

Paramedics were immediately summoned to the scene, where they declared the victim dead.

“While still on the scene, officers were approached by a community member who claimed she had information about the murder,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“She explained that she knew the accused and that he had come to her shack and told her he’d just killed someone before running away.

“When she followed him out of the shack she found the victim lying on the ground.”

Using the information given by the witness police were able to arrest a 42-year-old man in connection with the murder.

He was taken to the Primrose Police Station.

The accused has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where his case was postponed for a bail application.
