Seven arrested in Katlehong stop-and-search

Seven suspects were arrested during a Katlehong SAPS stop-and-search operation.

Officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit arrested seven suspects during a stop-and-search operation, last Monday.

The operation was part of the police’s on-going efforts to reduce crime in the area.

The accused were arrested for various offences.

Charges included common assault, warrant of arrest, aiding in the escape of a prisoner, possession of suspected stolen property and possession of drugs.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Doctor Sibuyi once again called for the community to report crimes and criminal activities in the area.
