Elsburg police share their recent arrest statistics

The Elsburg police continue to crack down on crime in the area.

Elsburg SAPS officers arrested 26 suspects for various offences during weekend operations recently.

One suspect was arrested on a charge of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle and another on a charge of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, 16 were arrested for drunk driving, one was nabbed for theft out of a motor vehicle, one for house break-in and theft, one for common assault and five other suspects were arrested for general theft.

The station commander, Col Lina Thethe, thanked everyone for their contribution in ensuring these successes.

Most of the perpetrators have appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court and their cases have been postponed for various reasons, while others will appear in court soon.
