Primrose community asked to be vigilant at all times

Police urge residents to stop parking their vehicles on pavements and take other crime warnings to heart.

Primrose police are still struggling with several crime trends in the area.

In Primrose Sector Three a high number of hijacking and theft of motor vehicle cases are still being reported.

“Our community needs to be vigilant at all times, especially in Primrose Hill, Wychwood and Malvern East,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Maome warned that most of the vehicles being stolen are vehicles that are parked unattended on pavements.

“We have warned the community on several occasions to invite visitors, even those who are only visiting for a few minutes, to park inside their yards.

“However, it seems our plea continues to fall on deaf ears.”

In Primrose Sector One and Two house break-ins, house robberies, business robberies and theft of motor vehicles, are a great concern for the police.

“As police, we are trying our level best to fight crime, but we need our community to help us.

“If we work together we can make Primrose the safest place in Gauteng,” said Maome.

The community is urged to report suspicious activity to the Primrose police by calling the shift commander on 082 770 9202.
