A 31-year-old man was recently arrested on a charge of drug possession.
The arrest was made by officers from the Benoni K9 Unit while on patrol on Primula Road in Primrose.

“While on patrol the officers noticed the man, who became nervous when he saw them, pushing something into his pocket,” explained communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.
They stopped and asked him to hand over what he had placed in his pocket.
“He handed them a ziplock plastic bag containing a white substance believed to be drugs,” said Maome.

He was taken to the Primrose Police Station where he was formally charged.
He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
