Man allegedly threatened with firearm

Man apprehended by Primrose police for pointing a firearm.

Primrose police recently arrested a 20-year-old man on a charge of pointing a firearm.

“The complainant told officers that he had been at the Marlands Shopping Centre when he was approached by a man he knew and his friends,” explained communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

The two reportedly began to fight and the suspect ran to his father’s vehicle and retrieved a firearm.

“The accused allegedly pointed the firearm at the victim, who surrendered.

“The accused then called his friends and together they fled the scene,” said Maome.

Using the description given by the victim, police were able to find and arrest the suspect.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
