One killed, one injured in N17 highway accident in Germiston

DEMS and other emergency services responded to the scene of an accident on the N17.

A male driver was killed instantly and his female passenger critically injured in a single-vehicle accident last Saturday evening.

The incident took place on the N17 east highway near the Osborn Road on-ramp in Wadeville at 6.20pm.

“The vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a stationary object, a tree,” said William Ntladi, district manager media liaison for Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS).

“A rescue team from Wadeville Fire Station swiftly responded to the scene and found the lifeless male driver still trapped in the wreckage.
