Sixteen alleged drunk drivers nabbed in Katlehong

Intensive operations target allegedly drunk drivers.

EMPD Katlehong Precinct officers blitzed hotspots in Katlehong allegedly notorious for drunk drivers between December 1 and December 16, last year.

Both static and roving roadblocks were mounted at night and in the early hours of the morning.

The intensive operations yielded 16 drivers who tested positive as per the initial on the spot screening for having had one too many while behind the wheel on a public road.

All the arrested drivers were male, between the ages of 23 and 41.

They were charged at the Katlehong South Police Station with driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Their court appearances were at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
