While many of us were enjoying a well-deserved break during the festive season the officers from the Katlehong North Police Station’s Crime Prevention Unit were hard at work.
During several operations held in the area, which included stop-and-searches, roadblocks and visible policing patrols, 18 suspects were arrested.

The accused were charged with various crimes.
Charges included:
• Common assault: 5
• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 2
• Domestic violence: 1
• Possession of drugs: 4
• Malicious damage to property: 2
• Attempted rape: 1
• Driving under the influence of alcohol: 2
• Theft and malicious damage to property: 1

Katlehong North SAPS acting station commander Lt Col Joshua Sekhu applauded a job well done.
All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
