Dawnview High matrics shine

The principal of Dawnview High School is thrilled with his school’s matric results.

“I am extremely proud of the 2018 matric class,” said an elated Moeketsie Kolokoto, principal of Dawnview High School.

As like all other matrics across the country, the learners awaited their results on Friday morning.

The school recorded a 97.4 per cent pass rate with 78 learners sitting the GDE examinations.

Twenty-five learners achieved degree passes while 37 achieved diploma passes.

In total the school achieved 20 distinctions.

The top performing learners were:

• Lungelo Sehlogo, the RCL president, who attained five distinctions in geography, life orientation, life sciences, physical sciences and mathematics.

• Lungile Zulu, who was in the top leadership of the RCL, who achieved four distinctions in life orientation, accounting, business studies and economics.

• Malekotsi Ramabelesa who achieved one distinction in life orientation.

“I am thankful for the support I received from the school governing body, the hard work put in by the teachers and general staff members and the involvement of the parents,” Kolokoto said.

“We are also grateful to Silvansons Hardware for sponsoring envelopes for us to put the certificates into.

“I dedicate the great performance achieved to the learners and parents but especially to the teachers.”
